Signs You Need a New Car

New CarDoes it feel like you’re paying for a car repair every time you turn around? As your car gets older, it’s going to need to be serviced more and more often, and you’re going to find that many of the parts on the car are going to need to be replaced. As a result, you’re going to end up spending hundreds and, in some cases, even thousands of dollars on car repairs. It’s a sign that it’s probably time for you to cut your losses and buy a new car that doesn’t need as much maintenance as your old one.

There are also some other signs that will show you it’s time to buy a new car. Check out a few of them below.

Your car has more than 100,000 miles on it.

There are plenty of cars that are built to last for more than 100,000 miles. As long as you take good care of your car, going over the 100,000-mile mark isn’t a huge deal. But once you hit six figures on your odometer, you will at the very least need to start planning for repairs and additional maintenance on your car in the near future. And if you find it to be too much work, it’s probably time for you to consider car shopping.

Your car is starting to rust.

Over time, there are some cars that will start to rust. And when they do, it’s just about impossible to get them to stop. Rust will make your car look unsightly and it will also make it dangerous to drive in some cases. Rather than trying to fix the rust, you should start looking for a new car to replace your old one.

Your car gets terrible gas mileage.

Does it feel like you have to fill up at the pump every other day? Older cars don’t get as many miles to the gallon as newer ones do. So if you crunch the numbers, you could actually end up saving money by buying a new car as opposed to continuing to fill up your old one with gas all the time.
